Return to the Land of Blogging

Oh hai! Remember me? The prodigal blogger has finally come home! This may or may not have anything to do with the fact that it’s November, and thus it’s NaBloPoMo. I’ve previously never seen any good reason to participate in this, but man, lately, with all that’s been going on in our small corner of the world, I’ve neglected the hell out of anything that I like to do that brings me joy or light or happiness, aside from taking care of my daughter. And because she’s nearly three, the joy and light and happiness that she brings me is routinely interspersed with the urge to pull my hair out by the fistful. No, what I need right now is a giant kick in the pants to get back to the things that help me take care of me, including time with friends, running, knitting, sewing, music, reading, and of course, writing. They’re always the first things to get dropped when I’m swamped, but if I was doing a better job of taking care of myself, I would cling to them for dear life. So NaBloPoMo will have to be that kick in the pants. I don’t know if I have enough to say to sustain me for the next 29 days, but I’m going to wake up that sleepy right side of my brain and give it a whirl. Here’s to a fun blogging month and a way to start fresh after a truly craptastic October.
